Mrs Angliss and Mrs Richardson Retire

We bid a fond farewell this week to Head of Textiles, Mrs Angliss, and English teacher, Mrs Richardson, as they retired after spending 70 years teaching at LEH between them.

Their joint retirement tea party felt like a joyful LEH teacher reunion, with many former teachers returning to school to see them again.  It was also attended by their daughters – both of whom were pupils at LEH. Alice Angliss, Class of 2011, is now a West End percussionist, while Imogen Richardson, Class of 2012, works in the charity sector.

If they taught you over the length of their incredible careers and you would like to say goodbye in person, please join us for the Alumnae Reunion on Saturday 7 October, where they will be our guests of honour.

Anne Marie Angliss has taught at LEH for almost 36 years, having joined the school in January 1988 as a Home Economics teacher.  “LEH is such a wonderful school to work in, but it is time to begin a new chapter when you end up teaching your former pupils’ daughters, or finding that past students are now joining the staff as your colleagues. That's when you know it’s time to hang up your boots, or in my case roll up my tape measure!”

Caroline Richardson has been at LEH for 34 years and joked that one of the main reasons she hadn’t left before was to avoid having to make a leaving speech.  “You are all so intimidating en masse,” she laughed.  “Thank you for being such wonderful colleagues and friends.  I will miss you all tremendously.”
