Meet Sofia Bontempi, Class of 2022, who has created Iris Library, a creative magazine celebrating new ideas and the people working across the creative industries.
During sixth form, I always knew I wanted to work in a creative industry, but I didn’t fully realise just how many different roles and career paths were out there. Since leaving LEH, I’ve been fortunate to work as a stylist and creative freelancer, meeting some incredibly inspiring people along the way, including creatives doing jobs I hadn’t even known existed.
Those conversations, experiences and collaborations became the starting point for Iris Library.
Iris Library is an Instagram magazine and growing creative space dedicated to showcasing creatives, their careers, inspirations and projects. Through interviews, spotlights, creative work, events and opportunities, I want to highlight the many different ways creativity can take shape, as well as the people behind it.
But I want Iris to become more than just a magazine. My ambition is for it to grow into a worldwide creative community, a place to find inspiration, discover people doing exciting things, get advice, explore opportunities or simply feel connected to others who share your interests.
Whether you’re a student figuring out what you want to do, an emerging creative just starting out, an established creative looking for inspiration, or simply someone who loves discovering new ideas and people, there’s a place for you at Iris.
Ultimately, Iris Library is about creating the space I wish I’d had when I was starting out. It’s a place to explore the creative world, discover new possibilities and find your people, wherever you are in the world.
