The event will be hosted by LEH Director of Drama, Sophie Torrent, who says: “I couldn’t be prouder of our incredible alumnae now working in the world of theatre, TV and film. We’re throwing open the doors of LEH to welcome them back and celebrate all they’ve achieved. We also want to inspire our current pupils and encourage their ambitions to become the next generation of actors, playwrights, broadcasters and technicians.”
The event is open to all alumnae currently working in those fields, plus all alumnae and pupils interested in finding out more and networking with them. You can sign up on Holles Connect here: https://www.hollesconnect.org.uk/event/encore.
LEH prides itself on its excellent drama provision which is rated “outstanding” by The Good Schools Guide. In addition to drama GCSEs and A levels, the Drama department hosts an extensive extra-curricular programme with five major productions a year and regular lunchtime and after school activities ranging from Production Club and Monologue Mondays to the Joint LEH and Hampton Drama Society 'The Company'.
In recent years, it has staged celebrated musicals including Legally Blonde and Mary Poppins, as well as commissioning professional playwrights to write new plays for large female casts as part of its Write the Girl initiative. These full-scale productions allow all students to work alongside partner schools and gain professional training from these writers.
Students can further their training as part of the Speech and Drama programme that offers students 1:1 tuition through Acting, Prose and Public Speaking. LEH has recently been awarded Trinity Champion Centre 2024/25 status, in recognition of its outstanding exam results, innovations in teaching and excellent programme of performance events.
LEH regularly hosts workshops and training from industry leading practitioners such as Splendid & Paper Birds, and in the past have taken 80 students to New York City as part of the Performing Arts tour.
