Meet Daisy Dunn, Class of 2005, who is widely recognised as one of the leading female historians of our time. We were delighted to welcome Daisy back to LEH as part of our Be Bold Lecture Series, where she shared fascinating insights into how women throughout history have demonstrated intelligence, courage and resilience equal to that of their male counterparts. Her lecture captivated and inspired the audience made up of current pupils and their parents, offering a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on the enduring power and influence of women across the ages. You can listen to it here

At LEH, we are immensely proud of Daisy’s achievements and the extraordinary impact she continues to make in bringing history to life. If you would like to learn more, we highly recommend her acclaimed book The Missing Thread: A New History of the Ancient World Through the Women Who Shaped It. Named one of the “Best Books of the Year” by The New Yorker, it beautifully weaves together the rich tapestry of ancient history, shining a light on the remarkable women who helped to shape it and ensuring their stories take centre stage.

If you are interested in joining us for a future Be Bold lecture, you can find details of our upcoming speakers here

We are always thrilled to celebrate the successes of our alumnae and to see how the spirit of LEH continues to inspire boldness, curiosity and leadership in so many fields.

With special thanks to Deputy Head, Dr David James for organising such a fantastic lecture series.
