Back to School for the Final Time!

Head Girl, Kiara, looks back on the journeys taken by our students with pride, and reflects on the exciting future ahead of them. All guided by our school motto: Hope Favours the Bold.

As the Upper Sixth, we just had our last ever “first day of school”, and I think collectively we all cannot quite believe we are beginning our last year at LEH. Of course, during the infamous first assembly back, we waved at the new Form 1s in the Junior School and became a little emotional as we reflected on our own journeys through the school. Every year, the Upper Sixth say it – but it truly does fly!

It is a little daunting heading into this term, with UCAS and personal statements looming in the air, but we also have a very fun term and year ahead of us! Work is already underway on our Sixth Form Panto, and I’m very excited to confirm that our theme is… Pitch Perfect! Our Sixth Form leadership team are working on a script that promises harmonies, lots of laughter and of course the traditions and long-lasting jokes that summarise our LEH experiences so perfectly.

As Head Girl, I feel incredibly proud to represent such a talented, resilient, and occasionally coffee-fuelled year group. This final year feels slightly bittersweet: we’ve looked forward to being in Upper Sixth throughout our time here at LEH, and now that it’s arrived, we want to savour every moment. Whether it’s supporting each other though UCAS deadlines, leading new events and clubs for younger students, or laughing together in and out of lessons, these are the experiences that will make our final year at LEH so special.

But more than any single event, we hope to leave a legacy that reflects the spirit of our school, and qualities that future Upper Sixths can build on, just as we’ve built on the traditions and achievements of those who came before us.

Our motto reminds us: Hope Favours the Bold. So, as we begin our last chapter at LEH, we do so with a mix of pride, nostalgia, and ambition - ready to face the future undaunted.

And before they know it, Kiara and her peers will join you all as the next generation of LEH alumnae. We hope you watch out for them as they take their next steps on their path to a fulfilling and successful future. From university choices to finding career experience, the Upper Sixth will look to you all for wisdom and support as they start discovering what their future holds for them.  Why not join the Elevate Mentoring programme and help these incoming alumnae to find their way in the bright future that lay ahead.
