Alumnae News |
Last week we warmly welcomed back over 120 alumnae for a wonderful day of fun, friendship and connection at the LEH Alumnae Reunion. Some had not returned to school since graduating more than fifty years ago, while others were more recent leavers. It was truly special to hear their memories across the ages and to see their delight at how LEH has grown and evolved.
Many were thrilled to discover how much more emphasis is now placed on subjects such as the Arts. The student art exhibitions were a real highlight, with several guests asking if they could buy the students’ work because it was so impressive. Most of all, everyone felt a real sense of pride in seeing what a warm and vibrant community LEH continues to be.
The day was filled with moments to enjoy and reminisce. We sang together in the theatre, led by Director of Music Mrs Ashe, and watched performances by our talented music scholars. We also admired the uniforms alumnae once wore and shared plenty of laughter over a special LEH-themed quiz at lunch. Sixth Form students led tours around the school, where many guests enjoyed exploring the new wings and spending time admiring the alumnae wall, which brought back fond memories for all.
We were delighted to welcome alumnae from the Classes of 1949 to 2020, showing the true spirit of the LEH community. It did not matter whether people had met before or not, as everyone was chatting, hugging, laughing and sharing stories as though no time had passed at all. The pupil dining hall was full of happy conversation, including talk of the Class of 2000’s time capsule, which will be unearthed in 2045.
You can see more of the photos from the reunion in our photo gallery when logged into Holles Connect.
As we look ahead to Christmas, we hope many of you will join us once again to sing carols at St Mary’s Church in Hampton on 8 December at 6.45pm. It is always a beautiful evening led by our Director of Music, Mrs Ashe, and featuring the wonderful Holles Singers. It promises to be a celebration filled with music, joy and togetherness, and we are sure A Star in the Sky will make an appearance too. You can sign up here.
