Happy 100th Birthday Betty!

One of our oldest alumna Betty Wainwright (Dryden), Class of 1939, celebrated her 100th birthday last month, with a spectacular cake and a glass of fizz.

Betty was suitably attired for the big celebration in tiara and fur stole and was seranaded by current pupils from our choir, who recorded a special video for her, singing a beautifully harmonised version of Happy Birthday dear Betty.

Her son Charlie said: "The party was a great success and everyone thought the choir video was fabulous. Betty was very touched that the girls had gone to all that trouble!"

Betty would have been a pupil at the school when it was based in Mare Street in Hackney in the East End of London and Nora Nickalls was the Head Mistress.
