Sheyi Martins-Allen, Class of 2006, is bringing her acclaimed live show, Rant and Release Live, back to Chiswick on Friday 4 December.
Sheyi has built an audience of more than 220,000 followers across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook with her Friday Rants: sharp, funny and fearless takes on dating, relationships, parenting and modern life, delivered with her signature catchphrase, "rethink your life choices". Her videos regularly reach more than a million views, and her debut advice book, Dear Sheyi, has been acquired by Piatkus (Little, Brown) for publication in 2028.
Rant and Release Live brings the online world into the room. The first show, held in April, sold out weeks in advance without any advertising. The evening blends comedy and candid conversation with live soul music: Sheyi, a trained gospel and soul singer, performs her reimagined millennial throwback covers with a live band.
For the December show she is joined by Salma El Wardany, host of BBC London's breakfast show, for the rant, and by soul singer Nate James, who will perform a set and a duet with Sheyi.
The show takes place at St Alban's Church, Chiswick, W4 5LG. Doors open at 6.30pm with a bar all evening, and the show runs from 8pm to 9.30pm.
Fellow alumnae would be very warmly welcomed. Sheyi says: "There's something special about looking out into an audience and seeing familiar faces. I would absolutely love to see some of you there."
