Remembering Margaret Hurll, Class of 1961

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Margaret (Maggie) Hurll, Class of 1961.

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Margaret (Maggie) Hurll, Class of 1961.

After leaving school, Maggie trained as a teacher and spent most of her career in and around London. She retired in 1997 as Deputy Head of a school in Northolt.

Following her retirement, she pursued her many interests with enthusiasm. She helped to organise the Richmond Festival of Performing Arts and the Ealing Piano Festival. Singing had always been an important part of her life, beginning in the school choir. She sang with several local groups and greatly enjoyed many residential singing holidays.

Maggie loved travelling, both in the UK and abroad. She was a keen walker and explored much of the English countryside. She was also a member of various organisations, including the National Trust and the RHS. She regularly met friends from her schooldays to visit renowned gardens together.

She did not allow her cancer diagnosis in 2024 to define her and continued to live a full and active life until a few weeks before her death.
