Back In Touch After 70 Years

The new Reconnect feature on our website has worked already – 80-year-old Jacqui Bryant was hoping to track down a former classmate or two, and now she's found 40 of them!
Jacqui made her appeal on the special electronic noticeboard of the ‘Reconnect’ page of this website.  She said: “This awful Covid 19 has made many of us realise how important it is to be in touch with life’s friends.  It would be so good to get in touch with my class friends from the years 1951-1956, when Miss Scott was our Head Mistress.  I realise this is a big ask as it’s nearly 70 years ago.”

Within a few days of the appeal going live, Dinah Alsford, class of 1958, contacted us, keen to be put in touch with Jacqui. She said: “Please tell her that we are a group of about 40 who have been meeting regularly since 1999, and she is one of the few remaining people we have yet to find. I’m sure everyone would be very excited to welcome her to our ranks and she will meet many of her old friends. We have been very much in contact during lockdown.”

Some of the group of friends attended last year’s Alumnae Annual Lunch at LEH in October, including Katherine Lawther (Cameron) Jean Wynd, Judy Heathcote (Newman), and seen here from the left: Sylvia Maiklem (Hargreaves), Margaret Packer and Dinah Alsford (Henley).

If you would like our help tracking down your former classmates, please email us at: alumnae@lehs.org.uk and we’ll be delighted to try and reconnect you.
