This physically demanding one-day test of fortitude requires competitors to climb 10 peaks, scrambling up 1400m of ascent, across a stunning 25km course. Unsurprisingly, the level of difficulty is graded as extreme and will take at least 10-12 hours of trekking.
Located in the heart of the Lake District, England’s largest National Park, the challenge will include a climb to the summit of Fairfield, one of the area’s most iconic peaks, affording beautiful views of the surrounding area.
Passionate wildlife campaigner Mrs Farnum-Ford says: “Both as a mum of three young children and as a teacher, I feel compelled to do what I can to preserve and protect our precious, vulnerable planet for the next and all future generations. By taking on this and other challenges in aid of the WWF, I hope to model the kind of energy and commitment needed to fight for our world.
“My husband Matt (who will be trekking with me) and I have covered our expedition costs, so every single donation will go directly to the WWF, funding their vital work to restore nature, protect precious wildlife and act against climate change. Thank you so much for helping to create a thriving world for generations to come.”
