Life Beyond the Spires

Sixteen former pupils, who are now all undergraduates at Oxford University, took time out from their studies to attend a buffet lunch with 36 current L6 pupils at St Vincent’s Club, just off the High Street, before taking them on a walking tour of the colleges.

It was a unique opportunity for the Sixth Formers, who are currently deciding which universities to apply to, to get a real insiders’ glimpse into academic life and find out if it’s the right fit for them.

“We are very grateful to you for giving up your Saturday afternoon,” said Mrs Hanbury.  “It’s so lovely to see so many of you and to catch up with all your news. I know that quite a few of you would have attended this lunch when you were in the Sixth Form, so you know how helpful it is for pupils.  We’re hoping to see you back in school soon.”

The other teachers who attended were Clare Eltis, Head of Classics, Andrew Hayter, Head of Chemistry, Andy Brittain, Physics teacher, and Natasha Murray, French teacher.
