Standing Tall on the Summit

Show your support for solicitor Nikita Saini, Class of 2009, who trekked for eight solid hours through chilling wind, rain and fog to reach the top of Snowdon and climb back down this weekend.

She is raising money for one of LEH’s favourite charities, Shooting Star Hospice who provide end of life care for terminally ill children. Her company Axis Capital has pledged to match the final total, so your donation will really count. Her fundraising page is here.

Nikita says: “This experience pushed me to my limits physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Many people were reduced to tears and wanted to quit at various different points on the ascent. It is not easy, so it was a humbling experience, but also a beautiful one which makes you realise your own strength and power. It made me a stronger human being.”

Snowdon is the second highest mountain in the UK at 1085m high. It is 11 times higher than Big Ben. Nikita trekked the Pyg path, which is the second hardest route.

She recalls: “At times you’re facing a steep vertical climb, with no solid footing, and a steep 1000ft cliff edge known as "death drop" just three paces to your left. This might sound really dramatic, but we were told that The Lord Of The Rings was filmed on our exact path and it was the path to Mordor. We could well believe this and kept our spirits up by joking that we would be Gollum by the end of it!”

All donations will be most gratefully received.
