Congratulations to the Miller Sisters!
Established by sisters Lydia (Class of 2016) and Amelia Miller (Class of 2015), Ivee, is a start-up designed to help women returning to work. This weekend Ivee has received great coverage and has been featured in The Sunday Times, business and money section.
“The return to work system is broken” said Amelia “AI-fuelled online job applications mean recruiters face piles of highly irrelevant candidates, and cull these using ATS (applicant tracking systems — a form of AI). Their decisions are based on previously successful candidates — typically white men with linear careers. AI-bias hurts anyone who took a career break to look after their families.”
With the Millers making sure women can get the much-needed help to get working again, we can see how this brilliant resource is going to go from strength-to-strength.
Ivee’s advice is: “Flip the career break on its head. Don’t list it as an excuse for a few years of your life; show that your experiences on that break are highly relevant to the job.”
